Tourist Guide
Chuncheon Puppetry Museum opened in 2004 within the Chuncheon Puppet Theater and will be remembered in Korean puppet show history. Chuncheon Puppetry Museum has on display about 200 pieces of puppets and puppet show related items from within Korea and abroad. Within the museum are different exhibition halls with different themes such as "Stick Figure Puppet Hall", "String Puppet Hall", "Hand Puppet Hall", and "Shadow Puppet Hall". In "Puppet Show Material Hall" you can see the materials of puppets and the process in which they are made, and in "Experience Hall" you can try moving the dolls yourself, and in "World Hall and Korean Hall" you can see the puppet dolls that have been in shows around the world and in Korea, and in "Shadow Tunnel" you can understand how the shawow puppet shows work. In the traditional puppet show hall, the only traditional puppet show that has been passed down and an important intangible cultural heritage number 3, namsadangpae (traveling troupe)'s Kkoktugakshi Nori is on display.
